The Supply Chain Accountant will be responsible for co-ordinate and consolidating supply chain cost forecast. Responsibilities

• Consolidate & co-ordinate sign-off of the Small Unit Control Framework for Supply Chain Finance
• OCF Forecast – Consolidation of Fcst input & Reporting – Concern Depn, IWC, Finance Charge, Concern NBV of Disposals, Stock movements & Capex.
• Challenge & report on all significant and/or abnormal stock discrepancies
• Transfer Pricing input(Standard Material Prices & Distribution costs rates/ton)
• Report Purchase Price Variance report
• Review & conclude reconciliation of SC other Balance Sheet accounts (Scrap deposit, EEG etc) & sign off Control checklist.
• Consolidate & co-ordinate sign-off of the Small Unit Control Framework for Supply Chain Finance
• Entrench & Monitor compliance to the Small Control Framework in Supply Chain Operation.
• Transfer Pricing input(Standard Material Prices & Distribution costs rates/ton)
• Input in SC Chapter & KPI in Coy Mgt Information Booklet.(GMVA, Business Waste, Distribution costs slides

Qualifications et experience

• Must have a B.Sc in any Finance related course and a Masters degree
• Must be a chartered accountant or in the final stage
• Must have a similar experience in an FMCG organization
• A Minimum of 4 years relevant experience
• Good knowledge of SAP or any ERP
• Must possess analytical skills.
• Must possess leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral (in English).
• Must be computer literate (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.)

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is a parastatal of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources established by Decree 25 of 1973 dedicated for the purpose of development, promotion and implementation of petroleum technology and manpower development through research and training of Nigerians as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the fields of engineering, geology, geosciences, management, economics and relevant fields in the petroleum and solid minerals industry in Nigeria or abroad.

Our mission is to train Nigerians to qualify as graduates, professionals, technicians and craftsmen in the field of engineering, geology, science and management in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria or abroad. We have a vision to serve not only as a vessel for the development of indigenous manpower and technology transfer/acquisition in the petroleum industry but also to make Nigeria a human resource centre for the West African sub-region.

To ensure a steadfast implementation of this mandate, PTDF is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the MSc and PhD as well as Undergraduate Scholarships, under the 2012/2013 PTDF Scholarship Scheme. Scholarships will be awarded for studies in areas listed below, in the United Kingdom, France and upgraded Universities in Nigeria for the 2012/2013 session. However, the Undergraduate level will be awarded for studies in Nigeria only.

Application Forms can be accessed online using an ATM card or through purchase of a scratch card from designated major branches of First Bank of Nigeria Plc in all the States and FCT, upon payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE sum of N1,000 (One Thousand Naira Only). PTDF however wishes to inform applicants that the Overseas Scholarship Scheme was instituted as a short term measure to address identified skills gaps, pending the outcome of the various capacity building efforts being made to enable our domestic universities effectively handle the onerous task of grooming qualitative professionals in the oil and gas related disciplines. With the numerous upgrade programmes executed by the Fund in some Federal Universities in Nigeria, emphasis has shifted to training Nigerians in-country. BASIC REQUIREMENTS

A. UNDER GRADUATE (Nigeria Only)

1. Possession of 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO including English Language and Mathematics

2. Must have concluded the 1^st year of their study in any of the PTDF upgraded Federal Universities listed above.

3. Must have scored a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on scale of 5 or 4.5 on a scale of 7 in their 1^st Year.

4. Must scan and attach a copy of their admission letter

5. Students admitted into the University through Direct Entry i.e. 200 level must have either of the following:

i. Minimum of Upper Credit at the Diploma level

ii. Minimum of 10 points in interim Joint Matriculation Board (I.J.M.B) examination.

iii. Minimum of 8 points at the Advanced Level General Certificate of Education (G.C.E).

B. MSc (Nigeria and Overseas)

1. A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field OR a 2.2 with oil and gas industry experience

2. National Youth Service (NYSC) certificate

3. Applicants must be computer literate

4. Possession of O/level with Credit in English Language in WAEC/SSCE (C6) or NECO (C4);

A minimum of one year is usually spent in the foreign institution and the remainder to complete their research in the home country institution, with regular Communication with the Overseas Supervisor. This implies that the student will have two supervisors-one in Nigeria and the other in the United Kingdom

The primary objectives of the program are:

• to build capacity in the Nigerian higher education sector by providing joint PhD research training at a foreign University and the designated Nigerian Universities to selected candidates who must be academic staff in any of the PTDF upgraded Universities; and
• to foster collaborative research and exchange between academic staff of the participating Nigerian universities and academic staff of the Foreign Universities.

The PTDF Split PhD scholarship recipients are therefore expected to undertake the full-time PhD degree over three years and are expected to split their PhD study one to two (1:2) between The Foreign University and their respective Nigerian University.

1. Important features of the Program:

• · For now the program is open only to academic staff in the PTDF upgrade universities;

• Split PhD Scholarships will be available from the 2012/2013 academic session;
• The PhD qualification will be as agreed by the Foreign University (either a dual certification or an award of the Foreign or Nigerian University);
• The scholarship provides for candidates to undertake their PhD partly in Nigeria and partly Overseas and to be supervised by a Nigerian supervisor and a foreign co-supervisor;
• The period of residence at the foreign University will normally be a maximum of one third (1/3) of the PhD (ie a maximum of 1 year based on the maximum allowable period to completion of study of 3 years) and this period will normally include the second part of the first year of the PhD program or as agreed between the two Universities. Ideally, the time period at each location will be negotiated between the supervisors, candidate and the respective universities prior to the commencement of the PhD studies. It is important to NOTE that the time in any foreign University throughout the program MUST NOT exceed 12 months and a maximum of two visits;
• Each selected Split PhD candidate will normally be supervised by an approved supervisor from the foreign University and an approved supervisor from one of the participating Nigerian universities;
• The scholarship covers full tuition and applicable service fees for up to three (3) years which include accommodation and living expenses, return air tickets, field trips, conference attendance, costs associated with supervision (including the cost of travel, accommodation and living expenses of supervisors for at least one trip each year to each other’s university for the purpose of supervising their respective candidates).
• Any academic staff member of a participating Nigerian university who wishes to secure the PTDF Split PhD scholarship will need to apply for admission to the PhD program and will be required to meet all the Nigerian and foreign University selection criteria and other course requirements.

 4. Tips on Identification of Supervisors and Co-supervisors

Prospective candidates firstly need to identify a supervisor in their Nigerian University and then contact the Foreign University with an indication of their area of research interest. If the subject area of the proposal fits with the University’s research profile, then the relevant faculty will assist candidates in finding supervisors and other necessary requirements of the University.

There is wide variation in how prospective students go about identifying supervisors and co-supervisors in foreign institutions. Each Faculty/Department has a team of postgraduate research student advisors who can advise about the preferred approach to identifying supervisors within their Faculty/Department. Most Faculties/Departments require applicants to identify the supervisor prior to submitting a formal application to the university. This will require applicants to commence a dialogue with a prospective supervisor who is known to them or who has been recommended to them or who they have identified through the websites. The purpose of the dialogue is to see if the applicant’s area of interest matches the interest and expertise of the prospective supervisor and to determine whether they will be able to act as the applicant’s supervisor should they be selected for entry to the PhD. Some prefer to allocate the most appropriate supervisor on the basis of the applicant’s research proposal following assessment of the application. It is important that prospective applicants familiarise themselves with the procedures and practices within the Faculty/Department which is most relevant to their area of interest.
