Role
Make recommendations on equities quoted on Nigerian Stock Exchange. As Equity Analyst you will play a key role in the monthly investment process.
The role will entail covering industry sectors and maintain active recommendations on equities in Nigeria, You will carry out sell-side research and sector coverage will be towards specific sector; vacancies in the following sectors; Banking/ Insurance(2),Building Materials/ Construction(1),Health Care(1),Petroleum Marketing(1),Real estate(1),Telecoms(1) and Breweries/Food Beverages/Tobacco(1)
Using your prior experience in the Nigerian markets- or within other markets you will develop a good understanding of the sectors, their constituents and share price drivers to generate timely, accurate investment recommendations. Write regular and ad hoc investment reports and communications to clients and consultants Working closely with Fund Managers and playing a large part in the process.
The candidate
You must be an experienced Equity Analyst with a wealth of exposure preferably a 2:1 at degree level or above in a relevant field. CFA and other professional qualifications will be an advantage. Specific sector specialization will be an advantage.
Must have at least 3 years plus relevant experience in Equity Research and more in the industry in general, in a reputable global organization. Attractive salary, incentive package and career development potential. Corporate banking experience in relevant sectors also useful, as well as Consultants in Agusto type, KPMG type setting in relevant sectors.
Previous use of DataStream, Bloomberg or Reuters will be beneficial in this role. Confidence to speak in large meetings to actively promote your ideas to your team.
Economist (Research)
Role
To review and analyse CBN macro economic policy and assess implications on macro economics variables ie inflation exchange rates interest rates. The candidate must be able to present house view on the direction of these variables to local and international investors by demonstrating a robust model used to reach these forecasts.
Candidate must be articulate with excellent writing skills. The role will be within an existing research team and be pivotal in developing the units top down investment strategy. The candidate must have some understanding of the needs of investors wrt to macro economic analysis
